Awesome weather, Awesome food, Awesome Football, Awesome Birthday, Awesome camping - I could go on & on! BUT ALSO - AWESOME WORKSHOP! We didn't so much like all the black in the suggested guide so we tweaked it and done this one- Cant remember where I got it- One of our how to books for sure though! I used brads and opaques for the eyes.. I used a sharpie marker to make 'dots' on 'sunset' brads & silver opaques.
Here's a lil prisma glittered up monster!

More oldies but goodies!

This is a post from last year, but its one of my favorites! Its using two of my FAVORITE paperpacks.. Emporium and Twitterpated! I used several stamps sets, but just from looking here - i know I used Rustic Alphabet and many thanks stamps set. Still love BOTH of those!
Use your spong dauber to create beautiful FALL leaves!

ALTERED ITEMS!

I LOVE to decorate (or 'alter') items! My friend asked me to do something with this cute lil plain, white, tin box she bought at hobby lobby. It was for a baby shower she was helping out with. She wanted it so people could write well wishes, and stick them inside for the 'mommy' to take home and read! So the box had to be pretty! What do ya think? She had bought some cute ribbon and stickers! I added white organdy ribbon and fancied up the handle. :-)
Next I wrapped cocoa CS all around and embellished with the gorgeous stickers she had.
I stamped with staz on ink on top. (be careful if you try this- straight up and straight down- the tin is slippery!) Staz On dries and wont smear. For the finishing touches I added some paper flowers, buttons, and LOTS of bitty sparkles. These girls are all about BLING!
Since I thought the box might be open a lot of the time for people to drop in their lil notes- I dress up the inside of the lid just a tad. :-)
Tu-dah!!! So sweet!

Pumpkin ROLL!

YUMMY Goodness! these are great and FUN to make...... I love to cook FUN food (not dinners! hahah) but definitely do NOT need to eat it all! These are great because you cut a few slices off and wrap it up and GIVE it away! OKAY- So apparently 'cheesecloth' makes some recipes A LOT easier! It certainly does this one and I actually found some at WALMART of all places.. If you don't have cheesecloth you could probably use the foil just fine....

Pumpkin Roll cont...

To make pumpkin rolls- you do not have to have FANCY ingredients.... Mostly everything you would have in your pantry and spice rack- except pumpkin maybe! BUT its seasonal now so STOCK UP! Beat 3 eggs and 1 cup of sugar in a bowl. Gradually mix in 2/3 cups of pumpkin & 1 teaspoon lemon juice.
In another bowl- mix dry ingredients- 3/4 cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ginger, 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Mix up with a whisk. Add to pumpkin/egg mixture and beat until smooth.
Prepare a pan with foil and cooking spray. Recipe called for a 10 x 15 inch pan. I just used one of my flat cookie sheets- it was probably somewhere between a 9 x 13 and a 10 x 15 inch pan.... Spread mixture evenly and to all edges of pan. Bake in a 350' preheated oven. The recipe said to cook for 12-15 minutes but i found mine to be done around 8-10. just check the middle with a toothpick or until it springs back.
This is mine right out of the oven... loosen the edges from the foil.

Pumpkin Roll cont....

Okay - here is why people think these things are hard to make! LOL You have to turn it over and out onto cheesecloth. (or foil) I made two and it worked fine for me, and I am NO Martha Stewart in the kitchen- I promise! Roll it IN the cheesecloth (or foil) until the end... Let cool for at LEAST 20 minutes....
Meanwhile make your cream cheese filling! BEST PART EVER of ANY recipe! HA! Combine 8 oz cream cheese (1 pack), 4 tbls butter, & 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cream with mixer... Gradually add 1 cup of confectioners sugar. YUM! (TIP* if you forgot to 'soften' cream cheese beforehand- sit out on TOP of warm oven for a sec while pumpkin bakes... TIP* if you buy a brand new bottle of vanilla- instead of pulling tab off and having to pour - just poke a hole through the foil on top with a toothpick and it will squirt right out for measuring - or just squirt into recipe like I do! I LOVE vanilla extract though so if I out too much I don't mind!)
So when its creamy- unroll your pumpkin and spread evenly. NOW when you go to roll it back up - if you just roll and pull out the cheesecloth from underneath it will roll right back up!!
Refrigerate and EAT asap! yum!

Thoughtful Thursday????

More like random Thursday! I was trying to think of something genius to post but I haven't had much time to create this week SO I thought it would be a GREAT time to share with you some of the artwork that MY INSANELY CREATIVE club girls do!!!!! Today I will be featuring some from my Life Preservers group (stay tune superstars- y'all are next!! ;-)) So here starts the randomness! This "October" card is a card I made last year to help along the Fall mood! I still love that 'twitterpated' paper! Shawn made these cute Halloween boxes!!!!!
Who needs to create your own stuff when we can scraplift ideas like these all day!!! ;-)
Another Mrs. Spivey creation! You guys know I LOVE these coaster books!

more stuff!

Shawn Spivey made this adorable Thanksgiving table centerpiece! I love it- she is so stinkin' creative! Kelly sent me this page she had done using the Magnifique WS suggestion in the kit as a guide. Check out the detail! It looks so much better than the guide does (my opinion of course!)lol
This is Mr Ethan! His momma Melinda is in my club and our children are our main subects aren't they?!!? What I think is so cool about this page is how she let the paper do the talking! So simple but so pretty...
Here's Melinda's WS layout.

More Sharing............................

Shannons layout of her family fishing! How cute with Passages paper! I'll never forget my first fish- I wish I had a cool scrapbook page of it! She probably loves this now, but she will APPRECIATE it later!! Kelly's girls! I just loved the black & white with these 'blues.' Instead of the suggested WS layout for Magnifique I pulled this on out of Magic!! Love the accordian flip books!
Rebecca's Magnifique pages! She still needed to title and stuff, but it already looked great.
Shawns layout! she used older pictures of her and her highschool sweetheart husband. So COOL! I love how she embellsihed!
We tried to tell her it was "years" not 'yeas," but she wouldnt listen... (LOL hahahaha ;-) Nah, jk of course.. We are pretty sure her bag ate her 'r' before she got there.
OKAY - so somewhere I missed getting a picture of Joannas and Teneals pages..... I'll catch you girls NEXT time too!!!!!!! Sorry ladies!!!!
Stay tune tomorrow for another Feature Friday!!! Who knows maybe I'll cook something cool this weekend and post it too!

Cute glass jars!

Okay - I think this was my last hobby lobby purchase to alter! These lil glass jars have SOOOO much potential! They were 50% off from 1.99 so I got it for a buck! (well I got 2) Here are just a FEW things you can do with them! I've been wanting to try this for a long time now. I know LOTS of you got 'rub ons' in your goody boxes or might just be wondering what else you can use them for- They transfer to just about anything - glass works great! I chose to work with our "Love Letters" rub-ons in black.
It is kind tricky since the jar is round- You have to cut out the rub on from the sheet- wrap it around and hold in sections (borders) and dont lift until you can see its completely transferred. I'm usually not a huge fan of rub-ons BUT this is honestly SUPER easy and look how cute!
I even put one on top of the lid! It fit perfectly!
Just for sake of trying it - I ALSO used our Glitter rub-ons- Works even better!!! So cute- can you see this thing all glittered up with snowflakes & ornaments, with a crisp winter blue ribbon tied around it, filled to the brim with Christmas candy! or that fake snow - just for decoration? WHAT CUTE GIFT IDEAS for all those people who like to swap out little gifts! TEACHERS, CHURCH , NEIGHBORS, MOMS OF YOUR CHILDREN'S FRIENDS, HAIRDRESSERS, so on & so on!
I already had the rub-ons so by the time you tie this up in some ribbon or fill it with cookie mix and a card you might have a few dollars in it! Tu-dah!!!!

Other ideas...

Fill it to the brim with any kind of HOLIDAY candy for any season! Stuff it with some festive ribbon...
This is a horrible picture, but you can stick one of those battery operated flickering teelights(sp?) in there! I left the ribbon in there with it once, and it was super cute with that light in it!
